“Gong Li,” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This song, to me, represents one the greatest things in life — stumbling onto something great without ever expecting it. Having an awesome experience or meeting awesome people… these are things that we always seem to take for granted. Maybe we should appreciate “the awesome” a little more than we do. Not to be all emo about it… Just saying.
Anyway, “Gong Li” was never released on any album, but after listening to it, you’ll be like “oh wow, that song is friggin’ great.” I bought a single for “Scar Tissue” in a bargain bin of CDs at Best Buy for $1 when I was in high school. This song was a hidden bonus track. Might be my all time favorite Chili Peppers song and barely anyone has ever heard it before.
I love when stuff like that happens.
